house cooling and birthday party
We had our final house cooling party on my birthday last Friday! It was one of the best parties we've had, being really relaxed and comfortable. There were no crazy people or breakages to worry about, but still plenty of people around. Josh and his band were all in from Essex to rock in the cellar, and at one point, Andy, Rosh and Tom P joined forces to play Nirvana songs. Andy was moaning them like some kind of Seattle nightmare while Rosh played drums and Tom P played bass. Very fun. Steph and Kal helped with some enthusiastic moshing. Later on in the night, Kal spent about twenty minutes chanting into the microphone 'Tom Allen is well bhahtee' which echoed up and down the house in a six in the morning kind of way. Much appreciated. Matt spent from about two in the morning onwards finishing a picture he was painting for a wedding the next day.
Saturday we spent recovering, while Matt headed off to his Oxfordshire wedding. We needed to clean the house - this hadn't advanced too far by the evening, unfortunately. Then we watched Citizen Kane and passed out.
Sunday was horrendous. Frantic cleaning all morning, followed by visit from our ghastly landlord. We all ran away like beaten dejected refugees, into the cold London night...

josh's birthday
Well, Josh H joined me in the bleak lands of 26 yesterday, and various people gathered on Lamb's Conduit Street for a meal in a restaurant called Ciao Bella. Italian, obviously. Very nice. I'm enjoyable my getting drunk on house red and eating pizza meals at the moment. The staff were a bit boring and anxious to get rid of us, probably because we were all wandering up and down the table chatting to people like it was a party and not ordering any food till very late!
