Projects I’ve started but which seem to have kind of lost steam a little. Posted here in the hope that it will some how spur me to action …
- “When’s my birthday on Mercury?” RSS feed
- last.fm venn diagrams
- scanning all my old photos
- laser cut coloured perspex penrose tiles
- workblog
- delicious link popularity graphs
- a complete Zenith .pdf to be printed by one of those print yr own books sites at great personal expense in lieu of Rebellion actually publishing such a volume.
- a game about being an author of pulp sci-fi/ fantasy in the 50’s and 60’s (to be perfectly honest I’ve never even started on this one but I’ve been thinking about it for ages)
- a site about london cyclists
- A study of Judge Dredd helmet morphology
And then Charlie said:
I also keep meaning to do the Penrose tiles at Ponoko, thanks to your suggestion. Let’s see whose procrastination lasts shortest…
And then Jim said:What would the site about London cyclists do?
And then tom said:Charlie: I expect I probably nicked the idea off you. I have an SVG file where I’ve generated the outlines, but the rather naive algorithm I used (an L-system FWIW) draws over some of the lines many times and makes a massive file. If you want the SVG file I can send it over.
Jim: It was something I started in order to learn Django really I was thinking of something along the lines of lookingrealgood.com/ (which seems to not exist at the momemnt) but with London cyclists i.e. a nice picture each day and answers to stock questions, best and worst thing about cycling in london favourite routes etc… But then I realised it would require much time commitment and I got distracted by something else.
And then Charlie said:I can’t remember whose idea it was. Nonetheless, it’s a good idea, I relinquish any “first dibs” rights to whoever puts the design together first on ponoko.
